Workshops
Rhythm is one of the most basic elements of music. It’s important to teach children rhythm fundamentals from a very early age, so that they can proceed to more complex musical tasks and concepts as they grow. Percussion workshops are a great way to help children with the learning process, developing their musical ears as well as their motor skills.
In between a busy touring schedule, Sola has always made time to conduct exciting stimulating percussion workshops for children. Previously, Sola has taught percussion workshops at many London schools including: Rosemead Preparatory School, St. Anthony Primary School and Geoffrey Chaucer Technology College. These sessions are designed to introduce students to the world of percussion, composing using percussion and incorporating percussion with story telling. The emphasis for the workshops is on listening to each other’s musical input and responding using your allocated percussive instrument.
Sessions last between 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the age of the students.
